Transfer Domain to Sitelutions

Please follow these directions and/or watch the video for information on creating and verifying your account. Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZJlmq35t04&index=4&list=PL1lJ3G08FMO3p3pRqBbyz_bZPeqt_u5qb

If you own a domain registered with another registrar, but you want to transfer it to Sitelutions, then this is the right article for you.

  1. Go to the Account Control Center

  2. Under the Domain Names section, click “Transfer Domain”

  3. Before you initiate the transfer, there are several things you must confirm:

    1. Your domain is not currently locked against transfer from your current registrar (many registrars automatically lock against transfers)

    2. Your domain has been registered for at least 60 days at the current registrar, otherwise the transfer will not complete successfully

    3. You have not renewed your domain with your current registrar within the past 45 days. If you have, you may transfer the domain to us, but according to ICANN regulations we cannot extend registration by one year

    4. Your domain should not be using any WHOIS privacy services at your current registrar. If it is, you must disable it prior to initiating transfer

  4. Once you have everything ready, enter the domain(s) that you wish to transfer in the specified box (Note: make sure that you enter each domain on a seperate line from any others) (Note: Keep in mind that the domain names that you enter will be like “example.com”; not “www.example.com)

  5. Make sure to click  the checkbox next to the domain name you wish to transfer, and enter in the EPP code that your previous registrar has given to you. (Your EPP code may be available to view on the website of your previous registrar, or you may need to contact their support team to obtain the code.)

  6. Optional: If you want to speed up the process of using Sitelution’s nameservers, visit your previous registrar and change your nameserver settings to the ones found here (you will have to do this eventually anyway). Your previous registrar should provide you with the means of doing so. This way, you do not have to wait for the transfer to complete before getting connected to the Sitelution nameservers.

  7. Click “add transfer to cart”

  8. If your order looks correct on the screen, click “Place Order”

  9. Your domain should now be in the process of being transferred to Sitelutions! If you visit the Domain Control Center, it should say “Transfer Pending”

  10. Depending on whether you changed the nameservers beforehand or after the transfer was initiated,  it may take a couple of days before your transfer is complete. Once it is complete, the Domain Control Center will list Sitelutions as the registrar.
